Calendula Officinalis (pot marigold) is one of nature’s oldest wound healing herbs known.
The flower petals of the Calendula plant are used for medicinal purposes and have since at least the 12th Century.
Calendula has high amounts of flavonoids, plant-based antioxidants that protect cells from being damaged by free radicals.
Calendula appears to fight inflammation, viruses and bacteria.

My name is Jennifer Suursaar and I was diagnosed with Grade 3 aggressive Breast Cancer in the right breast.
I have undergone a full mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and breast reconstruction.
It was recommended by the Radiotherapy Department at Flinders Private Hospital to use Natural Aid Calendula All Purpose Cream daily after each radiation treatment.
After researching the cream and hearing from other patients I decided to use it.
I found that Calendula Cream worked wonderfully for me. It is a non greasy cream; it absorbs quickly and reduced any redness from the radiotherapy.
To this day I still use Calendula Cream. I find it great for dry skin and it has a lovely fresh fragrance that suits the olfactory senses of cancer patients.
I have recommended Calendula Cream to many breast cancer patients who are going through Radiotherapy.
I would highly recommend this product.

My name is Bianca. I am married with 3 young daughters. I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer 2 years ago and had to undergo invasive treatment including Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy.
I just wanted to say a big thank you for providing me with the Calendula All Purpose Cream to use during radiotherapy.
My skin was quite badly damaged from the treatment but I believe was quickly relieved by the use of Natural Aid Calendula Cream that I massaged into the area morning and night.
It’s a wonderful product and it smells divine, absorbs quickly and soothes rapidly, reducing the redness and burning. I would without hesitation recommend its use to everybody (not only during radiotherapy).
Thank you once again for providing me with the information and opportunity to try Calendula - I will continue to use it as well as use it on my family members.
I strongly believe that the cream helped heal my skin much faster and with less pain than if I didn't use it.
I only wish I had begun using it in the weeks leading up to radiotherapy to nourish and prepare my skin so it wouldn’t get so damaged.
I will definitely spread the word.

"I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2013 after an incidental finding during my breast reduction.
So like thousands of other cancer patients I had to endure the rigorous treatment of Chemotherapy and radiotherapy and with treatment came side effects that seriously put me into my fetal position as I had no idea how to treat it or where to even start looking.
The chemotherapy left me with burns to my face and chest and I tried everything I could lay my hands on. Most smelled terrible and put me off completely. Although some products soothed the burns, the relief wasn’t long lasting. The heat from my body wasn't responding well to these products. I also wasn't keen on using products that contained nasty chemicals or alcohol as I didn't want the flare-ups.
I was recommended to use Calendula All Purpose Cream from Natural Aid Australia on the affected areas At first I was a little skeptical as I didn't want to fall into the same trap with false promises, but I have to say it was amazing.
The first thing that attracted me was the beautiful fresh fragrance. It wasn't overpowering but subtle and refreshing. The next thing was the texture, not oily/greasy and it was easy to apply and absorbed quickly.
The pump bottle is great as it doesn't leave a mess and the amount that comes out is appropriate so you don't waste any cream. I was able to take it in my bag and not worry about leakage.
Radiotherapy was the worst of the treatment as it burned my skin quite severely and it was very painful. However, I would place the Calendula Cream in the fridge for a little while and this not only soothed the burn but made it more bearable and comfortable. I am glad I used this product and other products from Natural Aid Australia that I trust and now use on my children when necessary. I recommended it to a lot of my friends and will continue to do so"

Hi Jenny & Victoria
My name is Gabi.
I found this product some time ago at the Night Markets at Thorndon Park. I happened to have a burn that was not healing well and in fact had started to turn nasty. One of your team at the time asked me to trial the cream and return after we had finished wandering around as she was confident in the product that my burn would stop itching and hurting so much.
She was right, then in the space of a few days it healed completely and I have been singing its wonders ever since.
The latest application was for my daughter and what looked like some sort of skin irritation which was itchy and rough on her arm. Not having suffered with eczema conditions in the past, it was odd. So suggested that in the first instance we try the Calendula cream and within 2 days it was gone.
I have been looking for some time in chemists and have tried other calendula creams without the same outcomes.
See you at the next market to purchase another Calendula All Purpose Cream.
BENZYL ALCOHOL - A NATURAL PRESERVATIVE
If you look at where most consumers go for information about cosmetic ingredients and preservatives (http://www.ewg.org/skindeep) you will see the following re Benzyl Alcohol: Zero risk of Cancer, Zero Risk of Developmental & Reproductive Toxicity, Ultra Low risk of Allergies & Immunotoxicity, Use restrictions are unlimited by legislation. Over all risk rating of 5 (Moderate).
Benzyl alcohol is produced naturally by many plants and is commonly found in edible food such as apricots, cranberries, cocoa, honey, mushrooms, and snap peas and and in green and black tea (up to 5 mg/kg). It is also found in a variety of essential oils including jasmine and ylang-ylang.
All test on these ingredients in toxicology studies are done at 100% concentration. It is a Bacteraic Static Ingredient and not a Biocidal Preservative.
Let us use the absurd comparison that Oxygen is toxic at 100% concentration. 6-10 minutes of pure Oxygen exposure has been reported to give the following symptoms: Dazed and lip-twitching; paraesthesiae (a sensation of tingling, tickling, prickling, pricking, or burning of a person's skin with no apparent long-term physical effect.); vertigo; "Diaphragmatic spasm"; Severe nausea. We wouldn't be telling kids not to breath. This is the trouble with the internet. A little distorted information goes a long way.
Benzyl alcohol is commonly used as the preservative in multidose injectable pharmaceutical preparations. For this purpose, concentrations in the range of 0.5-2% are used and the amount of benzyl alcohol injected is generally very well tolerated. Bacteriostatic Water (bacteriostatic water for injection) is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol that is used to dilute or dissolve medications and the benzyl alcohol suppresses or stops the growth of most potentially contaminating bacteria. The Bacteriostatic Water can be used for diluting drugs that can subsequently be administered by intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous injection. There are few side effects, if any, in adults. It is not used for neonatal medications because of possible toxicity of benzyl alcohol. Deaths in neonates have been associated with administration of 99-234 mg/kg/day benzyl alcohol.
In this situation mentioned above you most certainly don't want to inject very large quantities of fluids containing concentrations at 0.9% into neonatal Babies (referring to an infant in the first 28 days after birth), and so maybe you could draw the conclusion "that benzyl alcohol is dangerous for babies and young children" if you inject it into their blood stream. If they injected any of our formulations into any baby we still wouldn't reach the same level of Benzyl Alcohol as in Sterile Bacteriostatic Water.
